PLEASE READ EVERY WORD.
AOHE Village is still being built.
Our vision is to create a sanctuary-based community where humans and animals can thrive together. A place rooted in compassion, simplicity, service, and meaningful connection.
One day, the village will include up to 10 A-frame homes for individuals and couples committed to compassionate living, animal stewardship, and intentional community.
This is not a vacation property.
It is not an escape from life.
It is an invitation into a different way of living.
Life in the village won't be about escaping the world. It will be about participating in it more deeply.
Imagine waking up to the sounds of birds and rescued animals instead of alarms and traffic. Starting the day with tea, meditation, movement, or quiet reflection before the village slowly comes to life.
Some days may include caring for sanctuary animals, preparing meals together, tending to gardens, planting fruit trees, or helping steward the land. Other days might involve building projects, offering your professional skills, supporting community initiatives, or simply sharing your presence. Let's not forget about those silent days.
They'll be opportunities to:
Care for rescued animals and support local street dog initiatives.
Participate in animal rescue efforts and, when appropriate, witness the realities of factory farming through educational visits and advocacy work.
Grow your own food through regenerative gardens and food forests.
Plant native species, fruit trees, and help restore the land for future generations.
Join meditation sits, community circles, and periods of silence.
Participate in optional silent retreats designed to reconnect with yourself and the natural world.
Gather around evening fires to share stories, music, laughter, and meaningful conversation.
Enjoy sauna sessions, cold plunges, and practices that support physical and emotional wellbeing.
Share nourishing plant-based meals made with intention. (VEGAN ONLY SPACE)
Explore nearby trails, waterfalls, hot springs, and local communities.
Work remotely while living within a values-aligned environment.
Contribute your unique gifts, whether through teaching, building, healing, organizing, creating, or simply showing up with an open heart.
No two days will look exactly the same.
What matters most is the spirit in which we live: compassion over convenience, contribution over consumption, connection over isolation.
The village won't ask you to be perfect.
Only present, willing, and committed to growing alongside others, while helping create a kinder world for animals, people, and the planet.
You deeply care about animals and the wellbeing of the planet
You long for a life rooted in meaning rather than accumulation
You value community while maintaining your independence
You are willing to contribute, not just consume
You feel energized by service, simplicity, and shared responsibility
You want your daily life to reflect your values
You believe healing ourselves and caring for the earth are connected
You're vegan
You're looking for a luxury lifestyle or an all-inclusive experience
You prefer complete independence with little community involvement
You're hoping someone else will create the life you want
You're unwilling to participate in the care of animals or shared spaces
You see service as beneath you rather than part of a meaningful life
You are closed off to feedback, growth, or different perspectives
You tend to blame others instead of taking responsibility for your experience
You approach community through competition, control, or the need to always be right
You are seeking to escape your current life rather than intentionally create a new one
You value convenience and comfort above compassion, contribution, and connection
Eat animals (definitely not for you)
Residency will be application-based.
The village will include a maximum of 10 A-frame homes.
This vision is still unfolding, and timelines may evolve.
Residents will be invited to contribute in ways aligned with their strengths and capacities.
We believe community works best when it is built slowly and intentionally.
Take a moment and ask yourself:
What does "home" truly mean to me?
How do I show up in community?
What gifts would I bring to a place like this?
Am I willing to grow alongside others?
What kind of world do I want to help create?
If your heart is saying yes, we'd love to hear from you.
This form is not a commitment. It's simply the beginning of a conversation.
